First World:
1-1: Introductory level. You can enter the third pipe, but first go back to collect the hidden extra life mushroom. There is a hidden coin in the pipe above.
1-2: Collect two stars to gain extra lives. You can enter the second suspended pipe, but first collect the hidden coin on the right and the extra life mushroom above.
1-3: Watch out for the red bars; there’s a hidden coin in the cloud above.
1-4: Speed up to jump over the cliff, dodge the searchlights, and defeat the boss at the end.
Second World:
2-1: Use the green shell to knock out the Poison Mushrooms for extra lives; avoid entering the tall pipes to steer clear of powerful enemies.
2-2: A water-crossing level; it is recommended to use Mary after eating a Green Berry.
2-3: Increase your running speed to reduce the chance of being hit by flying fish.
2-4: Watch out for red bars and springs; you can enter the second suspended pipe.
2-5: Go up to collect coins safely; there is a hidden flower on the stairs. When defeating the boss, be sure to dodge the fireballs.
Third Major Stage:
3-1: Set at night; jump on the spring to get an extra life in the upper-left corner. After crossing the cliff, try entering the second Piranha Plant pipe.
3-2: The two cliffs are difficult to jump; it is recommended to jump with a boost or knock down the bricks first before jumping.
3-3: There are stars for extra lives; be careful when jumping on the moving red bars.
3-4: The screen darkens; watch out for falling bricks and poisonous mushrooms; jumping on the red bars requires skill.
Fourth Major Stage:
4-1: Step on or knock down the objects that throw hedgehogs to obtain a hidden extra life. There are coins and hedgehogs in the grooves.
4-2: A pull-screen level; collect hidden coins and extra lives.
4-3: Jump on the cloud bars; watch out for turtles and hammer turtles.
4-4: Protected by a star; mastering jumping techniques is key.
Fifth Major Level:
5-1: Cannonballs appear; collect hidden coins and extra lives, and watch out for the flower behind the pipe.
5-2: Ride the moving cloud platforms; avoid being knocked off, and watch out for dead ends.
5-3: Speed up to jump over the cliff, collect the hidden flower, and pay attention to the accuracy of your jumps on the springs.
Sixth World:
6-1: Jump over the Piranha Plant areas, watch out for poison mushrooms and hidden coins.
6-2: A maze level—follow the correct path to collect hidden mushrooms, flowers, and extra lives.
6-3: Use the Mario with bullets to clear the stage; watch out for the fire-breathing Piranha Plants.
6-4: First go down, then up to exit the maze; pay attention to the patterns in the spotlight areas.
Seventh Major Level:
7-1: Mario can enter the water but must keep jumping; collect hidden stars and coins, gain extra lives, and be careful when wading through narrow gaps.
7-2: A level set entirely in water; watch out for the chasing fish, and collect coins after exiting the water.
7-3: Wait for the tide to rise to get the question mark bonus, and make sure to get ashore before the tide goes out.
7-4: Navigate through the sea of fire and the cannonball zones; pay attention to the searchlight patterns, then enter the pipe.
Stage 8:
8-1: Watch out for moving chains; collect the hidden flower (difficult). Use the cannons and chains to gain speed and jump to the other side.
8-2: Navigate through frequent cannon fire, rapidly rotating searchlights, and Hammer Turtles. Dodge attacks and collect hidden coins.
8-3: Clear the level quickly, avoid the rising sea of fire, and watch out for cannons and hedgehogs.
8-4: Collect the hidden stars and flowers. Watch out for flying turtles, fire rings, man-eating plants, boomerangs, and hammer turtles. When defeating the boss, be sure to dodge the hammers and fire rings.
